This seems like a nice place, it looked clean and the person who greeted me was friendly and exceptionally helpful. I assumed that you could be big, or tall, but they only carry sizes for if you are both, or maybe you can be big and not tall, but they don't have clothing for people who are just tall. Pants sizes start at a 38 waist, and shirt sizes start at 1XL.
We bought a nice $400 Ralph Lauren suit from them last year with help from the manager and the girl who does alterations there. The girl who does the alternations said that she could tweak it in the arms and shoulders so that it would fit my husband well. We paid for the alterations, and when we came back to try it on, it still didn't fit well! We were told we had to pay more for a different alteration so that it would fit him, so we did. When my husband tried it on after getting the second alteration, it still didn't fit well and he can't move his arms up past his chest. He has never even been able to wear the suit even after the alterations were done to it. We will never buy anything that has to be altered from this store again. I appreciate the fact that they offer big and tall clothing, but the alterations are a complete waste of time and money!
Clothes too expensive for the quality and the staff was awkward and pushy. There aren't any other stores around specializing in big and tall clothes so thank you for having SOMETHING for those who need it. But the lack of variety, jacked up prices, odd atmosphere, and lack of quality are the reasons I only gave two stars.
Second Update: We met with Kennedy, who is the manager of the store there. We were blown away with her knowledge of how to fit a suit and the level of customer service. She definitely won us back as customers. If you want a suit, ask for Kennedy!
Clothes are awesome. Customer service is good. But trying to return stuff we bought online was a joke.
Update: I contacted support on the DXL online store and told them of my experience. I was contacted several days later from the manager of the store near me and they offered to reimburse me fully for the suit and for the alterations fees we paid, since she wanted me to be completely happy with our experience there. I was totally blown away from such amazing customer service!! That is pretty rare these days. I am changing my one star to 5 for customer service.
